Profile

We see ourselves as a pioneer in innovative research in the fields of medicine and health sciences, and a catalyst for work which will benefit society at large. A holistic view of health and illness is a founding principle of our teaching and research. Up-to-date, innovative methods and approaches are the cornerstone of modern healthcare. Research and teaching use this knowledge to pave the way for new discoveries in respect of physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing in equal measure.

R&D:Research at Karl Landsteiner University focuses on the fields of medicine, psychotherapy and counselling sciences and psychology. The core focus is on current health policy issues that have direct relevance to medical technology and call for advanced interdisciplinary approaches. A strong international reputation for research enables Karl Landsteiner University to provide a first class education for its students, and in turn make a valuable contribution to the development of health services.

Services:KL is going to establish a Competence Center for Clinical Research at the University Hospital in St. Pölten as a pilot to implement standard procedures for professional collaboration with industry partners and other scientific players in the field. Such measures will be further expanded throughout other hospitals in Lower Austria to allow for an improved and safe processing of data and centralized quality measures for monitoring and standardized data management.
