Austrian BioImaging is a nationwide association of leading universities and research institutions providing open access to state-of-the-art imaging technologies. As the national node of Euro-BioImaging, we offer a comprehensive portfolio of 40+ advanced imaging modalities, ranging from super-resolution microscopy to preclinical MRI. We specialize in bridging the gap between academia and industry by providing expert consultation, customized imaging workflows, and advanced data analysis to accelerate breakthroughs in life sciences and biomedicine.

R&D:Key R&D Activities & Capabilities Infrastructure-as-a-Service for Startups: We lower the barrier to entry for impact entrepreneurs by providing open access to 29 specialized imaging units. This allows ventures in the life sciences and health sectors to conduct high-level R&D without the need for significant capital expenditure on hardware. Proof-of-Concept & Validation: Supporting early-stage product development through advanced biological and preclinical imaging, ensuring that biotech and MedTech innovations are backed by high-fidelity data. Multimodal Imaging Workflows: Developing integrated, cross-scale imaging solutions that provide holistic data—essential for complex R&D challenges in drug discovery and disease modeling. European R&D Integration: We facilitate participation in transnational European programs. Through the Euro-BioImaging network, we connect Austrian innovators to funded services and international research calls, fostering cross-border R&D scaling.
