The Vienna BioCenter Core Facilities (VBCF) offers state-of-the-art research infrastructure & scientific services to academic research institutes and companies in the field of Life Sciences at Vienna BioCenter and beyond. We enable scientists to stay at the forefront of science by providing access to latest technologies & expert support in the fields of next generation sequencing, optical and electron microscopy, histology, structural biology, model organism phenotyping, and Drosophila research.
R&D:As a research infrastructure, we do not have our own research agenda but enable others to solve their scientific questions. We do so by providing cost-efficient services underlying transparent, equal access rights to all researchers that seek our scientific services.
Services:Through Vienna BioCenter Core Facilities (VBCF) scientists have access to cutting-edge equipment and services such as spatial transcriptomics, Illumina/ONT/PacBio high-throughput sequencing, biomedical imaging technologies, cryo-electron microscopes, high-end mass spectrometers, plant and mouse phenotyping and the largest Drosophila stock center in Europe. VBCF offers access to state-of-the-art instruments paired with the depth and breadth of experience of 80+ trained scientists.
