For FLASH-Radiation Therapy to gain clinical approval, it must be monitored in real-time so that the beam can be instantly halted if an issue arises. Conventional real-time dosimetry systems are unsuitable for Flash therapy because they either saturate at high doses or fail to provide a real-time response. BrightComSol addresses this challenge with BrightDose, a solution that continuously captures and analyzes the beam every ~1 µs during patient irradiation.
R&D:Research focus of the the company is on enveloping the imaging setup which consists of three components: A scintillator patch is applied to the patient's skin during radiation treatment, generating visible light when exposed to radiation. A high-speed camera captures the emitted light from the scintillator patch and software analyzes the images and light intensity to visualize key beam parameters, such as beam profile, dose per pulse, and total dose received by the patient, all in real-time.
