Austria Wirtschaftsservice GmbH (aws) is the promotional bank of the Austrian federal government. It supports companies in implementing their innovative projects by offering soft loans, grants and guarantees, particularly in cases where the funds required cannot be obtained sufficiently through alternative funding. LISA - Life Science Austria run by Austria Wirtschaftsservice aims at positioning Austria as a leading life science location offering a variety of support measures.

Services:aws LISA organizes the business idea competition BoB - Best of Biotech. It finances promising, pre-competitive research projects with LISA PreSeed (€300k) and advises companies/startups on business models, structuring, business plan creation, financing, funding, and patents. Funding startups using aws LISA Seed financing (€1 million) in the later development stages is one of the most important financial instruments in the start-up and growth phase of a life science company.

Sales/Distribution:aws LISA promotes the Austrian life science sector on the international stage and is the first point of contact for enquiries related to it. LISA is committed to the development, growth, and prosperity of the Austrian life science industry, working towards establishing Austria as a country known worldwide for the excellence of its life science sector. aws LISA is organized through the regional life science clusters ecoplus, LISAvienna, MTC, HTS, Innovation Salzburg, and Standortagentur Tirol.
