 Research & Development:
PHOTONIC TUMOR THERAPY uses intelligent modulated laser light adapted by sensors and/or software to the patients’ biomedical needs. The non-invasive mechanism induced by laser light reactive oxygen by means of the photon transformer FOTESI® causing the tumor cell death. The modulation of the light enhances the efficacy and selectivity of the procedure in significant manner.
The company’s unique, effective and safe PHOTONIC TUMOR THERAPY SYSTEM provides in the palliative setting the down staging of an aggressive tumor disease into a chronic one. In more than 90 % with significantly extended survival time and improved quality of life. In the curative setting, one single treatment is required. The applications are easily and rapidly performed, also on outpatient base, have a low side effect profile, are repeatable without limitation and are free of interactions. Thus, it provides a significantly improved risk/benefit ratio compared to standard treatments. Actually, the SYSTEM is available to treat bile duct, bladder, cardia, cervix, colon, esophagus/Barrett’s, lung, pancreas, and rectum.
The company know how filed has been granted worldwide. Europe (No. 862485) nationalized in 18 states, in the US (No. 6,146,410), Canada (No. 2,238,418), China (No. 1198667), Japan (No. 500382), Korea (No. 10-536882) Israel (No. 119577) and Australia (No. 732673). The trademarks PDT®, FOTELO®, FOTESI® are registered worldwide.
Since we are the only certified, commercially available service provider, we represent a solid advantage to our clients’ and their patients’.

 Products and services / Sales:
The business model of the clinical all-in hands-on service causes commercial advantage of the PHOTONIC TUMOR THERAPY SYSTEM in the “cost-per-treatment” issue for the service provided. In detail by specificly trained clinical advisors, using the proprietary SOPs, providing technical hands-on support, supply the disposables, handle the medical devices as well as support the administration in marketing and reimbursement.
The fair price per single treatment and based on a minimum order of applications is in line with the reimbursement and this optimizes carriers’ budgeting and cost control. The company gains advantage by short decision cycles and this accelerates the market penetration.
The over all market size for tumor treatment modalities is substantial and continues to grow due to an aging population, circumstances of life and better diagnostics: WHO reports 10.1 million new cases and 22.4 million humans were diagnosed worldwide. The inadequacy of current treatment modalities resulted in 6.2 million deaths, (Stewart BW, Kleihues P, World Cancer Report 2003) the trend rise continuously.
For 2010, we expect in the focused indications bile duct, bladder, cardia, cervix, colon, esophagus/Barrett’s, lung, pancreas, and rectum for the EC 1,140.000 new cases, in the US 830.00, with an annual increase of approx. 3,5 %. We believe a market share of up to 20 % in five years from now is a realistic scenario.
PDT®’s current customers are primarily University Hospitals, County and Community Hospitals of the Top Segment with large fields of clinical services. PDT®’s approaches their customers directly by its proprietary sales force.

 International activities:
CE-approval
Marketing and sales in the European healthcare market
Presentations and oral lectures on PHOTONIC TUMOR THERAPY in developed countries.
The strong demand for non-invasive, effective, and priced tumor treatments requires the up scaling by strategic partnerships for the worldwide roll out. PDT®’s proprietary platform technology has therapeutic impact in oncology and beyond. The proven technology adapted for a number of disorders with unmet needs shortens time to market and minimizes risks for other promising market areas.
