LIFEtool is a non-profit organisation, originally founded by Diakonie Austria and AIT Austrian Institute of Technology. The corporate purpose of LIFEtool is research, development and counselling in the field of assistive technologies, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), learning and training software for children, adolescents, adults and older people with physical and/or cognitive disabilities.

R&D:LIFEtool can design and develop applications that meet the specific requirements of the target groups in line with a User-Centred Design process: user requirements, testing/evaluation methodologies as well as end-user participation (recruitment, workshops, technical set-up, trial operations). According to its competences, LIFEtool helps to improve the user experience of products, ensuring the usability of applications and added services, and organizes pilot operations.

Production:LIFEtool attaches importance to intuitive operation, where people, their needs and capabilities remain in the centre point of the entire development process. Various acknowledged software titles have been released by LIFEtool in different areas like e.g. early intervention and games, acquisition of culture techniques, language promotion, learning about real-life educational content, improvement of concentration, improvement of working memory performance and support in learning disorders.

Sales/Distribution:LIFEtool Solutions GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of LIFEtool and responsible for the national and international distribution of LIFEtool products through sales partners and as a service the supply of Communication and Assistive Technologies for Clients and Customers in Austria.
